We were established in 2017 to position the Ukrainian arts on an international level by community building, facilitating dialogue, experience exchange and co-creation. We are working with the problem of the information vacuum and iron wall between the EU and Eastern Europe.

Submarine initiative: “The Saving Art”
Problem description
As the art market of Ukraine is relatively young and contemporary arts collections are not well covered in the national museums, prominent artworks of the Ukrainian independence period are in the private collections. Contemporary art represents Ukrainian identity of today and provides a new perspective on how Freedom has become our National Idea. Due to the war artworks are endangered and the whole period of independence in arts could disappear.
Project Mission
Preservation and manifestation of Ukrainian identity by means of arts and intercultural dialogue to support the visibility of national fight for freedom in the spotlight of the world's current agenda.
We cover three fields of activities:
1. Preservation of the artistic heritage by organizing and managing the network of shelters, logistics and legal support for safe evacuation and temporary storage of the art works
The process involves different interconnected activities of professional artists, restorers, cultural managers, legal, transportation specialists and reliable institutions that understand the importance of preserving contemporary Ukrainian art.
Our network of collaboration for this activity:
Memorial museum of totalitarian regimes - municipal museum based in
Lviv.
Museum Crisis Center is a grassroots initiative of culturologist and director of the Lviv based "Memorial museum of totalitarian regime" Olga Gonchar, it is implemented in partnership with NGOs "Insha Osvita" and "New Museum". It was already supported by the European Commission, Kyiv Biennale, PinchukartCentre, MitOst etc. The initiative is aimed at financial, organizational and expert support to small regional museums and professional teams at the time of crisis. The central government is currently engaged in evacuation of big state museums collections, while local museums are struggling to find help.
